Organizing Messages in Outlook

In Outlook we can use "rules" to route incoming messages to specified folders based on the senders address, keywords in the subject line, etc. To route an incoming messaged based on the senders address we would do the following:

To route all of John Doe's emails to a specific folder

 1) Open Outlook

 2) Open John Doe's email and copy his email address from the "From:" field at the top.

 3) Close the email message and return to your Inbox view

 4) Now click on Tools : Rules Wizard : New

 5) Select "Check messages when they arrive" and click Next

 6) Select "With specific words in the senders address" then click on "specific words"

 7) In the Text Search box past in John Doe's email address and click OK

 8) Click Next and then select "move it to the specified folder"

 9) Click on the word specified and then select the folder that we want John's email to go to.

10) Click OK then Finish and then OK again to exit the Rule Wizard
